Every allowance, in one table
These are daily limits, and they reset at midnight UTC. We publish them rather than saying “unlimited”, because every one of these features costs real money to run and an unlimited promise on a metered feature is a promise that gets quietly broken later.
| Feature | Free | Defender | Defender Max |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ask Sage | 5 / day | 8 / day | 12 / day |
| Conversation practice (exchanges) | 5 / day | 10 / day | 20 / day |
| Claim checking | 3 / day | 10 / day | 15 / day |
| Field Mode | 2 / day | 5 / day | 8 / day |
| Socratic dialogue | 3 / day | 5 / day | 8 / day |
| Sixty-second drill | 2 / day | 3 / day | 10 / day |
| Quill notes | 1 / day | 2 / day | 4 / day |
| Pre-conversation briefing | — | 1 / day | 3 / day |
| Argument builder | — | 1 / day | 3 / day |
| Worldview empathy exercise | — | 1 / day | 2 / day |
| Bible reader, verse compare, lexicon | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Verse of the Day, Seeker journey | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Claim memory and spaced review | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited |
Reading, searching and reviewing are unlimited on every plan because they do not call a language model. The metered features are the ones that do.
How billing works
Monthly or annual
Monthly renews every month. Annual is paid once for twelve months at a lower effective rate. Both renew automatically until you cancel.
The Max trial
Defender Max opens with 5 free days, which run at Defender daily allowances rather than Max ones. A payment method is required to start, but no charge is taken during the trial — cancel before it ends and you are not billed at all.
Cancelling
Cancel from your account at any time. You keep everything you have paid for until the end of the current period, then drop to Free. Nothing is deleted when you drop.
Changing plan
Upgrades and downgrades both take effect at your next renewal, at the new price. Nothing is prorated mid-period, in either direction.
When you hit a daily limit
The feature tells you which limit you reached and when it resets. It does not silently degrade or pretend to work.
Refunds
14 days, no questions, on a first subscription — plus whatever your local law gives you on top. See the Refund Policy.
Study circles
Small groups get a per-member reduction that grows with the size of the circle. Each member holds their own subscription and pays their own share, so nobody is left carrying a group bill. Circle pricing is not open yet; it arrives with the group features.
Not open yet
CrossExamine has not launched, and nothing on this page can be bought today. The prices above are what they will be. Leave your email and you will get one message when subscriptions open.
